Work Schedule: 1 to 3 days per week​

​The Position

​​

Connections Healthcare Centre is a values-based organisation which offers individual, family, and group counselling and psychological treatment, for those seeking these services.

​

​​We’re seeking a qualified Counsellor with at least 4 years of post-training experience to provide therapeutic support to individuals, couples, and families. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of psychologists and therapists, contributing to a collaborative, values-driven environment.

​​​

In this role, you will:

​

• Deliver client-centred counselling using evidence-based modalities

• Support clients in navigating life transitions, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and mental health concerns

• Maintain a manageable caseload with autonomy and flexibility

• Engage in peer support and contribute to a collegial team culture

• Liaise with GPs, support coordinators, and other professionals as needed

What we are looking for?

​

• Minimum 4 years counselling experience (post-graduate)

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counselling, or an equivalent

• Registration with a professional body (e.g., PACFA, ACA, AASW)

• A commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and holistic care

• A willingness and capacity to embrace our Mission and Values

Selection Criteria

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

​

• How you have promoted Christian values, vision and code of ethics

• How you empathically respond to clients in distress and how you have manage a crisis situation

• How you have been sensitive to a client from a diverse background

• Ability to engage and influence other through effective communication skills whilst establishing and maintaining positive working relationships

• Competent oral and written communications skills

• Your experience with word processing and database software, email and internet

• How  you work in a flexible and creative manner

• Your ability to work individually and part of a team

• Your organization skills and time management

• Your experience facilitating a group

• Current police clearance and working with children check

• Professional indemnity insurance
