Mark Twyerould
Counsellor
Mark Twyerould believes good counselling begins with the freedom to be fully human. His approach is warm, grounded and relational, creating a safe and respectful space where clients can explore their experiences without judgement and at a pace that feels right for them.
Working with both adults and adolescents, Mark supports people navigating trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, relationship difficulties and significant life transitions. He has a particular interest in understanding how trauma can affect the whole person, including our emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
Rather than approaching counselling as a process of “fixing” someone, Mark values collaboration, curiosity and genuine human connection. He seeks to help clients better understand themselves, make space for difficult emotions and experiences, and move towards a life that reflects what is meaningful and important to them.
Mark draws from a range of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, existential approaches and somatic techniques. His work is thoughtfully integrated and tailored to the individual, respecting each person’s values, beliefs, background and unique story.
Mark brings a calm, steady and compassionate presence to counselling. He welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and belief systems and aims to create a space where individuals feel heard, respected and able to explore the different dimensions of their lives, including body, mind and spirit, in ways that are personally meaningful to them.
Outside the counselling room, Mark enjoys spending time with family, being in nature and continuing to learn, particularly through reading.
He is available at Victoria Park on Wednesdays. To book an appointment, call us or send a message.
