Connections Counselling Perth Celebrates 10th Year Anniversary!

Updated: Jan 30, 2023

Connections Counselling exists today due to many people over the years who have generously given their time, wisdom, financial support, and have been faithful in prayer. Thankful to our Partner Churches, Clients, Counsellors, and Psychologists past and present.

We had a wonderful time celebrating on September 17, 2022 at South Perth. It was a jam- packed morning with remarkable testimonies, special giveaways and an opportunity to mingle connect and network.

One of the highlights of the event was the conversation between our guest speakers Rev. Fred Stone and Rev. Karen Siggins. Rev. Fred Stone was a former supervisor and lecturer when I did my training. He had a vision and heart that encapsulates the essence of Connections Counselling. His daughter, Rev. Karen Siggins, has been a great support over the years especially with her involvement with our Silent Grief conferences.

It was wonderful to honor Rev Fred Stone by creating an honor line for him to walk down where past lecturers, supervisors and counsellors who had been impacted by Rev Fred Stone. The highlight for me on the day was when Rev Fred Stone said, “I couldn’t have thought of a better person to pass the baton on to.” Such a memorable moment.

We had a lot of fun as the attendees got to know a little bit about our psychologists, counsellors and Connections Counselling. Geoff felt quite out of his comfort zone when asked to arrange the team from youngest to oldest without asking their age.

Along with the 10th year celebration of Connections Counselling is the 1st year anniversary of Pause Retreats. It is a nurturing space where women are welcome just as they are, to unplug, to just be, to relax, recharge and reconnect to self and God. A safe haven away from the busyness, demands, responsibilities and pressures of life. This service is a valuable addition of providing a warm, supportive and non-judgemental environment as we face the many challenges of life.

The celebration was truly memorable and we sincerely thank everyone who has been a part of us! We look forward to more years with you.
