"Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." — Colossians 2:7
Life can feel fast-paced and unpredictable, and this verse calls us back to the essentials: depth, growth, strength, and gratitude.
Our faith flourishes when it's anchored in something greater than ourselves. To be “rooted in Him” means allowing Christ to be our foundation—through prayer, reflection, and daily acts of grace. It’s an invitation to pause and ask: What grounds me?
Being “grounded” is not a one-time act—it’s a lifelong process of growth. It’s in the quiet moments of doubt, the questions, the small victories, and the community we nurture that we build a strong spiritual life. Faith isn’t static. It evolves, strengthens, and shapes us as we go.

Spend Time in God's Word
Reading scripture is like nourishing the soul with timeless wisdom. It’s where we meet encouragement, conviction, and God’s promises. Whether through daily devotions, verse journaling, or quiet contemplation, this practice helps us stay grounded
Prayer and Worship
Prayer is a direct, intimate conversation with God. Worship, on the other hand, is our response—through music, quiet praise, or gratitude. Together, they renew the heart and refocus our spirit. It’s in these moments we let go of control and lean fully into divine grace.
Be in Community
Faith doesn’t grow in isolation. Sharing life with others—whether through church, small groups, or conversations with fellow believers—creates support, accountability, and joy.
Reflection and Repentance
This is where growth gets personal. Reflection helps us recognize patterns, intentions, and heart postures. Repentance is the turning point—a humble return to grace. It’s like facing a mirror not just to see who we are, but who we’re becoming in Christ.
Solitude, Being Still, and Retreats
In stillness, we stop doing and start being. These quiet practices—whether during a silent retreat, a sunrise moment by the sea, or simply sitting with tea and thoughts—allow us to listen. Not to noise, but to the whispers of God in rest. They remind us that depth often comes in moments of sacred pause.
Here are some more ways to stay grounded.
To be grounded, growing, and grateful in every season is a daily choice. As you sip your coffee or gaze at a scenic view, may you feel the quiet strength of being rooted and the joy of overflowing thankfulness.
